hmm doesn't sound too bad to me i love adventure!! =D . though idk how stylish i am, and i don't really care about politics that much they just make me angry at times.

so I'm back home again this time for a while so hopefully that translates into more artwork that I'll do. i really want to begin to take an active role in my education as an artist and try to get better at it. i always feel that i face an uphill battle trying to get better at drawing and  digital medium but the only way i am ever gonna succeed at this as a career is if i keep fighting to get better.  which means i need to learn new techniques and try to draw every day. though to be honest, sometimes  the process gets really tiring , and I'm not sure if i have the natural talent and drive for it . i mean chances our when i get done with college i'm not instantly going to become a successful illustrator but rather I'm gonna have to start out in the graphic design area of the spectra (which i hate) either that or i'm totally gonna end up something else completely. but i feel as if i invested soo much of my life in it already that it would be wrong to give up and throw everything that i've done down the drain * sigh* oh well it'll come to me eventually, i have faith.

the post card says wish you were here, but in reality i wish i was there.
i can't get that quote out of my head. lately NMU has been well.... not so stellar to be completley honest. sadly it's seems like half the people here have hopped on the "hey let's all hate on Laura without letting her know the reason why" train. and it's kind of maddening because i don't know if it's some innate characteristic that's looming within me that is inherantly annoying that i'm not realizing. i realize that i can't make everone in the world like me and i'm ok with that. that's not my issue, my issue is people that are supposed to be my friends avoiding me , and being rude to me without letting me know why. the worst part is that the friends that i actually like that are at NMU are either transferring next semester or next year. =(
anyhow
this is what has inspired me to consider transferring to another school. well.... that and i really miss the city and all there is to do in it.
so the schools i've been considering mainly, are NIU, U of I, Columbia, and maybe uic.
i dunno part of me is excited and part of me is scared for my possible future.
what would be really nice about Columbia or U of I is that i already know people that go there so it wouldn't be like i was starting over completely on my own. that's probably what scares me most , that i'm not sure that if i did choose columbia my parents would let me live in the city on my own with out taking the whole (stay at home it'll cost us less $) approach.
and there is the whole issue of if i would choose a school like U of I or UIC i'd have to change my major to something like graphic design which i'm not sure if i want to do or not.
anyhow any imput would be greatly appreciated, on anything whether it be living at home *cough* roni*cough* or certain colleges

actually there's not really any at all.
aside from Thursday's acen scare/ drama (too lazy to type about sorry) things are good.
just registered for classes next semester and they are as follows:
-english (required)
-intro to marketing
-visual structures and concepts (required)
and
-intro to mass media
though... i don't know if i should drop that class and take Drawing/ painting instead cuz it really doesn't go to my major and i don't know if it will be useful, but i'll feel bad because that'll be the second class i told my one friend i was taking with him and then dropped ^_^;;. i mean my advisor says this as follows when i asked about it"I recommend taking beginning painting (AD 114) because it focuses on
painting and you'll do plenty of drawing in the illustration classes,
but I think you could get in to (drawing/painting) 220 right now." soo i'm not sure what to do about that or what ever. OPINIONS ANYONE?????

can you believe it ? less than 26 days left until I am a sophomore and college and heading back home to good old deerfield illinois! it's gone by soo fast it's crazy!
although i cant wait to get back to deerfield and see all my friends i kinda wanna stick around here too, oh well all things must pass and I'm totally excited to be moving into a different dorm next semester too.

wow i just realized how long it's been since i've posted stuff. how did i get this lazy? it's not like i even do anything productive in college half the time i just sit on my butt and try to look busy. *sighs* ohwell
i suppose i should tell you about all my fun filled adventures here at nmu but where's the fun in that?
well i guess i'm just gonna fill up the rest of this with the random ADD thoughts that fill up my head like the fact that i went playing in the snow yesterday.

First off i am totally and completely physically fine.
ok so today was i don't even know how to describe it.
first i went cliff diving after band practice (which could make up a whole journal entry in itself ( if you want the story ask)) and off to walmart and then taco bell to eat dinner. while were pulling in the parking lot to eat holly my friend who's a nursing major sees this car flipped over and immediately puts the car in drive and gets on the other side of the road/ highway where the accident took place. it was soo scary i still am shaking. there was this huge ass suv just turned over upside down completely totalled and this other black car with it's window smashed and the driver, a girl outside of the car crying, meanwhile holly has rushed over to the flipped upsidedown suv and is attempting to help the people that are still inside the suv that is flipped over. meanwhile me and my other friend kaylyn are just standing there freezing are asses off since we still were wet from cliff jumping, and in totall shock. we must of stood there for a good half an hour or an hour. i know once we got there i called 911 but they said someone was already on their way. we watched the police cars pull up then the ambulance and finally the firefighters. we watched the people getting taken out of the suv by the paramedics. and the girl that was crying get treated for her wrist because it was hurt. it was soo scary and i couldn't even believe what i was watching. anyhow i just felt like telling you all. because it was soo out of this world and your my friends so i figure you have a right to know. drive safe and wear your seatbelts. that's about it.

OMG! AAAH! *dies on the inside* i didn't think it was coming up so soon but yea it is. T_T honestly i'm soo nervous right now about it! like especially marching band because i suck at the music and need to practice more X_X. but yea.... I DON'T WANNA GO! LOL i want to stay with all my friends or at least bring them with me. it feels so wrong to be splitting apart at least physically, and i'm kinda freaked out to tell you the truth.
any how i could go on for hours on that subject alone but i'll spare you all my college preparation plans and woes for now and skip to my life at the moment......
....yea.... it's kinda really boring not gonna lie... i really want to hang out with my friends very soon because other wise i think i'm gonna go crazy lol.
soo yea oh i went to the renisanse fair last weekend and bought a shirt and bodice it's really pretty and if i can figure out how to upload pictures i'll show you guys. oh and california was awesome! i'd upload pics on facebook to show you guys but it says i don't have the right software. X_X

anyhow that's my life for right now a contradiction of exceedingly fast approaching life changing events, and mass amounts of hours of sheer nothingness.

oh and my thoughts are with all the people that have been affected by this yet another death.

ok so i've gotten what i wanted but i don't know if that's good or not. let me clarify i just made two major things have just happened to me.
the first thing was i decided that i'm going to northern michigan university. (which my grandma isn't happy about but i'm the one going to the school and not her so i don't care. lol)

the second was i asked brian to prom which he said yes to but then i told him that i liked him but only as a friend and still wanted to go to prom with him but as a friend. which he said he was ok with and not to worry because he doesn't take rejection hard. but i still kinda feel like a bad person because of it. but i feel that if i asked him to prom pretending i liked him and broke up with him a week later i would be a much worse person for doing so and i just couldn't be that person (even though this isn't 100% not shady either)
i know that i did what was best for me, but it's kinda scary to make these big decisions.
anyhow i just wanted to let you guys know where my head was at. i hope i've done the right thing but who knows.

i'm going to boston tommorrow! i'm really excited but nervous because i'm rooming with all underclassmen and i don't have many band friends 0_0; but hopefully it'll be fun. i mean i get to see blue man group go to a aquarium, and see the freedom trail which is very historical.

in other news i just bought the hush sounds other album "So Sudden" i just couldn't help myself i had been wanting forever and they didn't have it at borders so i was like what the heck i need music 4 the trip right? lol but it is very awsome so far. right now my favorite tracks are "crawling towards the sun" , and "The Artist" .but i haven't listened to it all so far.

but right now i have to right a band paper and do 2 chemistry labs and pack all by tommorrow. X_X soo i'm off.

apparently the janitor that everyone knew named solime (sol-lih-may)put a video tape recorder in the handicap bathroom and videotaped kids using it!
I can't even begin to tell you how violated this makes me feel. first off I WORK THERE! Second off I KNEW HIM! right now i don't know what to think. i really don't . i'm just shocked, appauled and in disbelief.
they say he's going to face a very harsh sentence because there were children on the tape. and he used the tapes for his own viewing pleasure. i just can't understand why he would do something like that. and i'm wondering why i didn't knowtice it and stop it. this just reminds me so much of middle school sexual assualt thing it's not even funny. the worst thing is the synagog is a montesorri school in the day time, and he has been working there for as long as i can remeber. i feel like some how i've let the kids down even though i know i didn't do anything just for working there and not knowticing it.
i can't believe this i really can't.
a synagog is suppose to be a safe place. my brothers shouldn't have to see it on the news for something like this.

Ok his name's brian he goes to columbia, and is a freshman there. now that that's all settled can we please focus on some other aspect of my life?

which btw was amazing i went on a cruise to freeport bahamas, grand caymen islands in the carribean, and costa maya mexico. each shore excursion was more amazing than the last in my opinion. the only things that were not amazing was scuba diving in Ft Lauterdale florida, getting burnt, and then paying $20 for a bottle of sunscreen in mexico.
which btw guess what? i'm now OFFICIALLY a Certified Scuba Diver. Yay!
but now i'm back to school which has it's own positives and negatives (like hw!)
but i won't be for long because next week i'm jet setting off to boston w/ the rest of the band for the band trip. which i'm kinda excited about, kinda nervous about cuz my roomies are all younger than me (0_0 i forgot to sign up for rooms!) but it's all cool because the 2 i know seem like nice fun people.

Something good happened today... but i don't wanna say what it is since i don't wanna jinx things.
lots of good things are happening lately, i keep on feeling like i'm dreaming and living someone elses life because things don't seem real.
i leave for the cruise on saturday which has its own worries but mainly i'm totally excited for it! hopefully it's relaxing and a good vacation.
the only non good thing in my life right now is that i have to finish writing a paper and finish ap art stuff by tomorrow. ugg! how i wish i didn't have to do that stuff but sadly i do so now i must go and do these things
